My Approach

I find that the best way to understand my clients is to use a multitude of approaches and techniques that cater to individuals from different backgrounds and contexts. These differences can depend on age, family system, culture, etc. I hope to make it clear that client's identities are a key factor in how I understand and approach their stories. My concentrations are in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamics therapy with an emphasis on person centered therapy. One of the most important things about the therapeutic relationship is autonomy which consists of a nondirective and respectful approach for the client.

How I Can Help

My goal is to provide services for those that want to discuss the important aspects of their identity by providing a safe space to talk about social injustice issues surrounding the clients’ identity. Part of this goal is understanding how different aspects of your identities interact with your presenting issues. It is the reason why I'm also focused on building a safe, nonjudgemental space for clients to disclose and discuss while feeling heard. In today's society, it can be hard to feel understood because of social norms, gender expectations and media. I hope we can work together on these problems and help guide you in the right direction.
